Ice spikes and wall of fire
He sits helplessly on a pendulum that swings along with the wind,
Swinging to the mocking tune which the random wind carelessly sings
A wall of leaping flames across glistening spikes of ice,
At opposite ends to each other as the howling wind gleefully cries
He needs to sit still in silence but the cruel wind willfully defies,
And as such each day and night in torment he so painfully dies
He swings to the right thus holding in embrace the wall of leaping fire
Burning in furious immolation to his wild and wanton desires
He swings to the left thus impaling himself on the frozen spikes of ice,
Blood frozen in shattered heart that refuses sadly to die
He yearns to sit still in silence while fighting agony gone insane,
But the pendulum swings ever more to his convulsing body in chains
So each day he dies screaming with a pain that grows ever the more dire,
Swinging between ice spikes and the fiery wall of licking fire
Ice spikes and wall of fire

The lines of this poem are rather too long, thus losing a great deal of their effect. Imagery is very vivid though, and a thoroughly enjoying poem all the same.
thanks guys...actually the idea of the poem is that of the tragedy of a person who is given to extremes...on 1 side longing n desires while the other is that of heartbreak and a measure of disillusionment while sadly, not total which would have provided him with a release...so he is condemned by his nature to the same destiny day and night
