The path between the ancient pillars
Between the pillars that lead to nowhere,
Held hands and dreamed they have dared
With resolve and longing they have looked ahead,
Between the ancient pillars their hopes they laid
Trying to create something eternal,
Finding the transcendental in pitiful existential
How far they have walked,
Hands and souls they locked
Between the pillars that lead to infinity,
They tried to emulate the sacred trinity
Where he has bled and wore his crown of thorns,
Driven by love, to bear their scorn
Love
A fallacy they subscribed to, imparted since eons
Since the first dawn bequeathed light, and a mysterious axiom
Trying always to deviate,
And thus they have done and so they hallucinate
Forging this path away from nature’s dictates,
Away from the realm of nature and reason, which they so forsake
They have traveled, like those before
So will those after, seeking this lore
The path of ancient pillars they have walked,
Where above, birds in the air mock
They travel along this curved corridor,
Where east goes to west, and goes round again,
Many are the paths that are broad and straight,
Yet this path they taken and upon it, their hopes are laid
This path along this ancient curved corridor
A dream made of hopes, a deceitful lore
The path of ancient pillars
Held hands and dreamed they have dared
With resolve and longing they have looked ahead,
Between the ancient pillars their hopes they laid
Trying to create something eternal,
Finding the transcendental in pitiful existential
How far they have walked,
Hands and souls they locked
Between the pillars that lead to infinity,
They tried to emulate the sacred trinity
Where he has bled and wore his crown of thorns,
Driven by love, to bear their scorn
