Two statues shatter
Statues of clay in a desert of sand,
Blown by the wind and fate’s blinding hand
From a period as old as the memory of time,
Destiny is a poison so sweet yet sublime
Two statues come from places unknown,
Blown by the wind which sorrow bemoans
Clay upon clay with sand upon sand,
They feel what they must and do what they can
Clay meets with clay as the wind blows them close,
A forced embrace comes with an entwining of souls
Eternity is a lie and the wind is a jester,
Two statues collide as the beaten clay crumbles
Two statues rapture as the strongest wind passes,
The departing wind shrills its gently mocking laughter
Destiny is a poison from which they were helpless,
Two souls torn as two statues shatter
Two statues shatter
