Bridges

Time might heal, might not...all depends on whether we let it
but between people...one person can alone cause a rupture, but it takes two to build a bridge

A person suffices to burn a bridge, built upon the labour of two
Hurt and anger to burn the bridge, understanding is a rebuilding tool
Or perhaps you view the darkness, across the bridge of wood,
And deign to bring forth a light, of fire emitting soot
But great is the wind over the river it spans,
Erratic the wind so often tends
That noble fire which seeks to light,
By ill design the bridge it ignites…

…Leaving then,
An open chasm

A person suffices to burn a bridge, but something good may yet come forth
For a bridge of wood the fire burns, pales to one concrete built in turn
So fret nor regret not the passing of the old,
For out of flames the unknown holds
A burning occurs on a moment’s spur,
But considered rebuilding not be deterred
For will defies the vagaries of fate,
While Love defies even more, venomous hate

A redeeming concrete bridge,
The far shore might yet be reached…

Bridges

bridge. how to bridge the age gap or communication rift between 2 generations of people? to a certain extent, i can't stand my 69 yr ols grandma who lives under the same roof. she's nags/complains/mutters insatiably; she doesn't understand why i love clubbing n hanging out at pubs. she wants me to stay at home n accompany her! yet, if i play X-box in the living room, she thinks that's a waste of time. what's worse? although i'm half thai, i seriously dislike spicy food or anything with chilli! what did she cook for lunch? malay style veggie curry! it's one of the most unpleasant ways to start of a Sunday! (sorry for tis ranting but i am tearing my hair out living with her!)

I will put it in the most unpleasant but honest way..she does not have long left cos she is 69 already..haha i got and age gap with my mother too la..she can tell me things like i don't want you to use the phone when i advertise for property cos....'when you switch lines and people just happen to call in at the moment you switch then people won't get through..''...so i say..'pls...how probable is that?' and she is not even concerned with the more probable thing of me holding 2 lines while the 3rd caller can't call, but its THAT MOMENT i switch line she's concerend about..n her reply is..'don't think it won't happen hor'...wow...it blew my mind but still, she has her virtues...its vexing sometimes this generation gap but like i said...your grandma is 69 already...
