The night friendship died
The moon sang a sorrowful requiem that silent night
As they joined their lips while friendship died
He raised a sweet libation to the goddess high
As from her lips escaped a gentle sigh
From mountains above, Aphrodite descends
And blinds his conscience with her ironic hands
Artemis gazes, and abets their recklessness
All becomes permitted in soothing darkness
He discovered Eden and found there her Eve
And neglected perdition in temporal bliss
She longed for Elysium and found it a myth
Yet to abyss she plunges and fails to resist
The moon finished its requiem that night
When dawn arose and friendship died
He left in sorrow for failing to try
And as he walked he began to cry
The night friendship died
As they joined their lips while friendship died
He raised a sweet libation to the goddess high
As from her lips escaped a gentle sigh
From mountains above, Aphrodite descends
And blinds his conscience with her ironic hands
Artemis gazes, and abets their recklessness
All becomes permitted in soothing darkness
He discovered Eden and found there her Eve
And neglected perdition in temporal bliss
She longed for Elysium and found it a myth
Yet to abyss she plunges and fails to resist
The moon finished its requiem that night
When dawn arose and friendship died
He left in sorrow for failing to try
And as he walked he began to cry
The night friendship died
