Monkey

I decide not to bother trying to aspire towards a certain feeling I get when i read other's poetry...to each his own and if no one likes it...well.....what can I say, if i do write it means i like it, i publish it so that you might see, if you don't like it...hmm....you are only you, while I am only me

The monkey climbs a tree,
Watches the eagle flying free
Yearning, aspiring towards its majesty,
Gift of ascendance the monkey longs,
And finds wanting; yet painfully lacking

The eagle soaring, scanning,
Sharpest eyes searching,
Spotting, descending, cawing,
And carries an earthbound rabbit,
Within its claws clutching

Monkey stays on tree,
Swings from tree to tree
Scratching his head, uttering a HEE
A banana he does see
Peels it and prepares,
For a monkey’s feast
