Black Hole

The sun that sends its light across dark space,
Burns itself passionately with extreme haste
Knowing only to send its light thus,
Its greatest triumph, its saddest tragedy, yet it must
The people need a new sun today, to forever
The sun they had, weakens, burns brightly again never
The people turn their eyes away from the sun,
Towards another star, their lust for light, an insatiable run
Neglected thus, the sun burns softly in self-pity,
And finally, it burns for a final flickering,
Sadly, self mockingly

But when its grief at being abandoned leaves,
A darkness from within, dormant but now with vengeance, lives
As it explodes upon itself, seeking vindication, justification, vengeance
And forever thus, it seeks to take away what it has henceforth given,
Light it has given freely, selflessly,
Only to be abandoned in the end,
It now seeks to take from the furthest reaches of space,
As far as its avenging hands

Black hole
