Piety
Piety
Spilt on fields his blood did flow
His deceit that won him his tainted gold
Reviled he lay as crows came pecking
Judas of faith tested in death found lacking
Yet he had to fell the wood
That formed the cross which all thought good
Yet he had to gather the brambles
To match that head with its holy tatters
Yet he had to be the puppet
To be the villain that the play so needed
Yet he had to go to hell
Such that they might in heaven dwell
Cursed forever as they wrote in letters
Treachery condemned him to burning sulphur
Lamenting they did the depths he sunk
As they echoed Amen, god’s will be done
Spilt on fields his blood did flow
His deceit that won him his tainted gold
Reviled he lay as crows came pecking
Judas of faith tested in death found lacking
Yet he had to fell the wood
That formed the cross which all thought good
Yet he had to gather the brambles
To match that head with its holy tatters
Yet he had to be the puppet
To be the villain that the play so needed
Yet he had to go to hell
Such that they might in heaven dwell
Cursed forever as they wrote in letters
Treachery condemned him to burning sulphur
Lamenting they did the depths he sunk
As they echoed Amen, god’s will be done

A yet another thoughtful outburst of your pen! It gives a whole new dimension to Judas... and is absolutely wonderful! I maybe sounding really cliched when it comes to writing about ur poems..but somehow, words seem to fail me! Keep writing!
