To live is to burn

He set a cage of ivory bars
The day he made the moon and stars
He gave to man and took away
The breath he blew the very day

Life is choice is a sword two edged
Nectar and poison is the sacred breath
In chains some chose to rage in pain
In time they burn in the master’s reign
